invite a mission in your area!

The Ministry of Water is a flexible organisation and we can pack up our things and come to your community.

Invite the Ministry to your community!

We can support your community in thinking about freshwater, in holding difficult and creative conversations with the powers that be, in raising issues that you want tackling and finding new solutions.

The Ministry would love to come to your community event offering (eg):

  • creative and water sample mapping

  • games exploring the big questions

  • water divining

  • photo marathon/exhibition of photo graphic evidence

Become an Agent of Evidence

The Ministry of Water is concerned at the lack of evidence about the state of freshwater in your area. We are creating a giant water sample map of the Conwy Vallies using water samples over time. If you have a stretch of river, an outlet pipe, a well, a pond, a bog, a lake that you care about, see or visit regularly, consider becoming an Agent of Evidence. We will provide you with training, a kit and an official Agent of Evidence badge

Be an Agent of Inspiration!

Here at the Ministry of Water we believe in the world-changing power of weird, difficult and challenging questions. Blow the whistle, ask questions and share your answers as an Agent of Inspiration.

The Ministry also has a mission to inspire action through the power of photographs. We seek Agents of Inspiration who have photos to share that tell a story about freshwater. Perhaps photos that help us remember the old ways, or that identify issues and places that need attention today and in the future

Join our team of Water Diviners!

The Ministry of Water endorses the ancient art of water divining for discovering the truth about water. We are seeking Water Diviners of all ages. You will receive training for your mission!

ask the valley a question!

What would you like to know about freshwater in the Conwy Valley area? Add to our list the questions the Ministry should ask the valley … And let us know if you have any answers

  • What’s the longest river in the valley?

  • How long does it take water to travel from one end of each river to the mouth of the Conwy?

  • What’s the water quality like in our rivers?

  • How many salmon are left? Are there any Salmon?

  • How will wetlands be affected by the new tree-planting regimes?

  • Why does my well dry up more often now?

  • Why don’t you dredge the river?

  • How are toads doing?

  • Where are the worst pollution problems?

  • How will climate change affect flooding and drought?

  • What are Dwr Cymru doing about the storm drains in Capel Curig?

  • What can we do about tourists/vans and human waste next to Llynnau Mymbyr?

  • Is there any support to build a pond? Or to get a water butt?
