Dw i’n creu prosiect amlgyfryngol fydd yn mynd i’r afael ag ansicrwydd ein byd wedi’r cyfnod clo. Bydd yn archwilio sut y byddwn yn wynebu difrifoldeb llethol ein sefyllfa wedi COVID, gan gynnwys materion newid hinsawdd a chwymp ein ecosystem. Mi fyddai’n cydweithio ag artistiaid, ysgolion a chymunedau a’u gwahodd i greu eu ‘Utopias Bach - revolution in miniature’ eu hunain i adlewyrchu ac i sbarduno newid cadarnhaol y nein cymdeithas.
I’m really pleased to have received seed funding from Creative Gwynedd to develop a new project, Utopias Bach - revolution in miniature. I’m exploring the idea of making it a participative, collaborative, multi-location bilingual arts project building from questions of scale that we identified during our Merched Chwarel project, and from our ‘Mini-Monument Lab’, re-thinking the scale and permanence of monuments as GRRRLS in the garage.

I hope Utopias Bach will address the uncertainty and disempowerment (the dystopia?) we find ourselves in now, facing the overwhelming enormity of post-COVID problems/Climate Change/Ecosystem collapse, knowing things need to change but being unsure of what to do/how to do it.
It feels like the time is right to start to think how to live in different ways, and how we can do that ourselves, working in collaboration and I’m hoping that tiny is a manageable scale to start…
Utopias Bach might range from gardens on a plate or bonsai forests to tiny poems and books, texts; from micro conversations to online games; from puppetry and lego buildings and towns to technological innovation; from mini-monuments and Minecraft worlds to photographs, films and performances.
I’m looking for collaborators to shape the project, and to try out making things. Perhaps we would develop a Utopia Bach toolkit, online resources, workshops (eg in schools, with particular communities, at village ffairs etc). Or do a trial somewhere….
