Golchi+

November 9, 2021 lindsey colbourne

This vlog documents and reflects on a semi-public hand-washing ritual, taking inspiration from the Happening Celtic+ by German Fluxus artist Joseph Beuys (1971). We explore how new hygiene routines during Covid-19 have changed our perception of private and public space as well as how we perceive intimacy.

Part of an AHRC funded research project “Re-Inventing the Live-Event” (Bangor University) which looks at how the pandemic triggers paradigmatic changes for the idea of bodily co-presence at live-events.

Made by Sarah Pogoda, with interviews and footage by me and fellow crones Samina Ali, Wanda Zyborska and Lisa Hudson.
