Moon in the pond and trees (1 of 4).jpg

Spring, and life returning!

At around midnight, on the last full moon, a little troupe of whirligig beetles played with the moon in the pond I built at the start of lockdown in 2020…

In celebration of all things round, circular…. and paying attention to the little signs.

Diolch i Rhys Trimble am y geiriau.

Paying attention to the pond is going to be part of the Succession project at Plas Bodfa, and part of my way of coping as we (do we?) emerge out of lockdown, keeping close to our more-than-human kin as I re-engage with the human… As Gaston Bachelard says “Being is round”:

“images of full round-ness help us to collect ourselves, permit us to confer an initiation constitution on ourselves, and to confirm our being intimately, inside. For when it is experienced from the inside, devoid of all exterior features, being cannot be otherwise than round”.
