“The dominating authoritarianism in the western world demands people are disconnected from the land…
The lore is in the land …
Leave those who are pecking over the carcass of the earth to their dying beliefs and the rest of us can get on with rebuilding relationships, stories, knowledge and place. Quietly and with people" - Tyson Yunkaporta
Croeso i Stori’r Tir! Welcome to Stori’r Tir, a new project, created with Angharad Owen and Emily Meilleur as part of the Cynylliad Hinsawdd Cymunedol Community Climate Assembly . We are hoping to create stories and start creative conversations in the community to explore past, present and future relationships with the land in Dyffryn Peris (the valley that runs from Pen-y-Pass through Nant Peris, Llanberis and all the way to Caernarfon).
I’m excited to find out how might this approach help us learn from the past, generate new stories and relationships as we face an uncertain future?
Please sign up for updates/more information/to take part: Stori’r Tir
PS I’ve always wanted to try out re-telling old tales to see if they can help us find our way today… here is my first attempt: Stori Canthrig Bwt’s Story (a cannibal witch of nant peris!)
