A bit about the book

I’m ridiculously proud to have my first book published!

It is a fiesty little tale, a ‘refabulation’ of an ancient 4th Century legend about a witch and possibly a giant, who lived in Nant Peris in the Eryri mountains.

It began as a little experiment, as part of Crone Cast and Stori’r Tir:  I wondered what might it be like to re-imagine legends/stories of women of Eryri, especially those which seem to have lost something over the years. How might these stories be relevant today? Might they help us rethink how we might (re)connect to land and how we (humans and more-than-humans) could live better together today, and in the future?

So I gave it a go. The response to it was phenomenal! It has inspired music, performances, workshops and some incredible creations, including beautiful drawings and paintings by Wanda Zyborska, and other versions of the Canthrig Story, including by Seran Dolma.

Due to popular demand (I’ve always wanted to say that), we decided to get it published. I’d love you to have a copy!

With thanks to Wanda Zyborska, and Tea with a Tree publishing in particular (and many others for encouragement and help along the way), and to GwyrddNi for providing some money towards it.

One of the very best things is it has come out absolutely beautifully, using non-coated paper and vegetable inks! Amazing. Thanks to Tea with a Tree!
